Worcester County Jail's Dress Code: What You Can and Cannot Wear to Visits

The dress code at Worcester County Jail applies whether you're walking into the Visitors' Lobby or logging on for a video call. Plan your outfit accordingly. When in doubt, stick with simple, everyday clothing that isn't revealing or attention-grabbing. Getting turned away is a frustrating way to lose time with your loved one.

Note: Video visits have extra restrictions - nudity, sexual conduct, weapons, drugs, and tight-fitting or provocative clothing are all prohibited. Dress like you're walking through the front lobby, then dial it back even more for the camera.

For in-person visits, leave your coat behind. Outer garments of any kind are prohibited, and hooded clothing isn't allowed either. Show up in a hoodie or jacket you planned to keep on? You'll be asked to remove it before you can proceed.

  • Nudity
  • Sexual conduct
  • Weapons
  • Drugs
  • Tight-fitting clothing
  • Provocative clothing

Avoid anything that could hide your identity or push boundaries. Hoods are an easy example - hooded clothing isn't allowed. For video visits, the facility can end your session if what's on camera crosses the line: tight-fitting or provocative clothing, nudity, sexual conduct, weapons, or drugs. Keep your outfit straightforward and camera-appropriate from the start, and your visit will go smoothly.

Keep jewelry to a minimum. Worcester County Jail allows only wedding bands and medical alert bracelets - leave everything else at home or secured before you enter. If you normally wear earrings, necklaces, watches, or multiple rings, take them off ahead of time so you're not scrambling at check-in.

Worcester County Jail's Dress Code: What You Can and Cannot Wear to Visits
  1. Choose simple, non-hooded clothing - coats, outer garments, and all hooded clothing are prohibited, so dress in layers you can keep off or leave behind.
  2. Dress extra conservatively for video - tight-fitting or provocative clothing can get a video session shut down, and nudity, sexual conduct, weapons, and drugs are prohibited.
  3. Strip down jewelry before you arrive - only wedding bands and medical alert bracelets are allowed.
  4. Lock up your belongings - secure personal possessions before entering; coin-operated lockers are available in the Visitors’ Lobby.
  • Sign in at arrival
  • Present a current photo ID (driver’s license, passport, etc.)
  • Pass through the metal detectors before entering

Note: Check the posted rules in the lobby. Approved carry-in items are limited to medic alert charms, a wedding band or engagement ring, and a locker key. Stash everything else in the coin-operated lockers before you enter.
