Who Cannot Visit at Worcester County Jail: Understanding Visitor Restrictions
Planning a visit at Worcester County Jail? A few specific rules can block you before you ever reach the visiting room. Here are the most common reasons someone gets denied, plus what to do if you're unsure.
Worcester County Jail caps how many different incarcerated people you can visit over a rolling period. If you've visited three or more other inmates in the past five years, you won't be allowed to visit.
Note: This rule catches a lot of people off guard, especially those who regularly support friends or extended family in custody. Even if the person you want to see has approved you, your past visit history can still disqualify you.
Other Disqualifying Statuses
- ✓ You are a co-defendant on a felony charge for which the inmate is being held.
- ✓ You are on parole or probation.
- ✓ You are under indictment.
- ✓ You have any open criminal cases in any jurisdiction.
- ✓ You are a former inmate (of any institution) within 10 years of your release from incarceration.
These restrictions are separate from the usual "approved visitor list" rules. Put simply, even if the inmate wants you to visit, certain legal statuses can still make you ineligible at Worcester County Jail. It helps to understand the bigger picture of how the jail screens visits. Worcester County Jail limits repeat visiting across multiple inmates (the 3-inmate / 5-year rule) and also blocks visits based on co-defendant status and other criminal justice involvement. If any of these apply to you, calling ahead can save you a wasted trip.
Visitors at Worcester County Jail are authorized to visit only one inmate housed at the facility. If you want to visit a different inmate, you must first be removed from the original inmate's visiting form. This isn't something you can handle casually at the front desk. Switching from one inmate's visiting form to another requires advance approval from the Assistant Deputy Superintendent of Special Services or their designee. And if you're not listed as an approved visitor in an inmate's file, you won't be allowed in.
- Get on the approved visitor list first - If you are not listed in the inmate’s file, you will not be allowed to visit. To be added, you must write the inmate a letter requesting that he adds you to his list of approved visitors.
- Complete the paperwork when you arrive - Visitors are required to sign in and complete a “Request to Visit Inmate Form” upon arrival.
Arrival ID Contact
- ✓ Bring a current photo ID (for example, a driver’s license or passport). If you cannot produce a valid, acceptable ID, your visit may be denied.
- ✓ Plan to sign in and complete the “Request to Visit Inmate Form” when you arrive.
