Sending Mail to Someone at Wynne Unit: Understanding TDCJ's Digital Mail

To send personal mail to someone at Wynne Unit, address it with their full first and last name and TDCJ number. Don't mail it directly to the unit - send it to the TDCJ Digital Mail Processing Center: Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Inmate's Full First and Last Name + TDCJ Number, PO Box 660400, Dallas, TX 75266-0400.

When your letter reaches the Digital Mail Processing Center, staff sort and scan it. The scanned image is then uploaded to the inmate's secure tablet so they can read it.

No tablet? No problem. If the person you're writing to doesn't have one, they'll receive your scanned letter as a black-and-white printed copy.

Some mail skips the digital processing center entirely. Legal mail, media mail, books, magazines, packages, and subscriptions from verified publishers all go directly to the unit. If your item falls into one of these categories, check TDCJ's exception rules for the correct address.
