How to Schedule Your First Visit at Wynne Unit (Step-by-Step)

All visits are scheduled through the TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler. Here's the basic flow: create your account, validate your email, complete the Background Questionnaire and profile, add the inmate using their 8-digit TDCJ/SID number, then submit a relationship request for the unit to verify. Once approved, you'll pick your visit type and select an available date and time. Before making the drive, call Wynne Unit to confirm the inmate is still housed there, has visitation privileges, and that visitation hasn't been canceled.

Head to the TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler: https://visitation.tdcj.texas.gov/Visitation/startLoginAction.action. Already have an account? Log in with your email and password. New to the system? You'll need to create your own account - TDCJ staff can't do this for you.

  1. Create your account with a valid email - Use an email address you control and can access right away.
  2. Check your email for the 7-digit validation code - After you submit your email, you’ll receive a message with a 7-digit code to complete registration.
  3. Enter the code to validate and finish registration - Follow the prompt to re-enter your email and type in the 7-digit code.
  4. Choose your email carefully - Once an account is created for an email address, the account can’t be deleted and the email address can’t be changed.

Step3 Questionnaire Profile

  • Answer every question in the Background Questionnaire - if you leave anything blank, you can’t move forward.
  • Complete the required fields in your visitor profile (the system will flag missing items).
  • Enter phone numbers in this exact format: XXX XXX XXXX (use spaces, no dashes).

Now add the inmate to your profile. Search using their 8-digit TDCJ number or 8-digit SID number. The system requires exactly 8 digits - if the number is shorter or longer, the search won't return the right results.

When you enter the relationship details and submit, you’re sending a relationship request. That request goes to the inmate’s unit of assignment (Wynne Unit, if that’s where they’re housed) so TDCJ staff can verify the visitor/inmate relationship.

Once you're approved, the system will let you choose a visit type. Options can include Regular, Contact, and Video/Tablet visits. Not every type shows up for every situation - what's available depends on your relationship to the inmate, the facility's visitation setup, and the inmate's current privileges. You may also see an option to request an Extended or Special Visit.

  1. Open the scheduling screen for your inmate - Use the Schedule Visit option when it appears next to their name.
  2. Review the available dates and times - Only open slots will be selectable.
  3. Select an available slot and submit - Double-check what you picked before you finalize so you don’t have to redo it later.
