Planning Your First Visit to Wyoming Correctional Facility: Hours, Limits, and What to Expect
A little planning goes a long way at Wyoming Correctional Facility. Know the weekend schedule, the arrival cutoff, and how visitor processing works—and you'll avoid losing visit time or getting turned away at the door.
Wyoming Correctional Facility allows one visit per incarcerated individual per day. Each visit can include up to three visitors, plus one child under age five - but that child must sit on an adult's lap. If you're coordinating with family, sort out who's coming before you arrive so you don't exceed the count at check-in.
Visits happen on weekends, from 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM. That's your window for check-in and time together.
Visiting hours run until 3:15 PM, but you need to arrive by 2:15 PM. Show up after that cutoff and you risk missing your visit entirely.
Wyoming uses a lighted number system in the Visit Hospitality Center window. Visitors are processed in arrival order - not by when visiting hours start or how far you drove. Getting there earlier means less waiting and a smoother check-in.
Tip: Don’t aim for 2:15 PM. Because Wyoming processes visitors by arrival order using the lighted number system, getting there well before the 2:15 PM cutoff gives you breathing room if the line is long.
Before heading inside, you can wait at the Visitor Hospitality Center. DOCCS provides these centers as a place for families and friends to get shelter and a bit of respite - especially helpful if you arrive early or you're visiting with kids.
