Visits at Wyoming Correctional Facility happen on weekends. Regular visiting hours run from 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM, but the latest you can arrive is 2:15 PM. Show up after 2:15 PM and you'll likely be turned away for the day, even though the visiting room is still open until 3:15 PM.

There's one more detail that trips people up: weekend visits are split by the last digit of the incarcerated person's DIN, and the eligible group rotates on alternating weekends. Before you make the drive, confirm the DIN and figure out which weekend applies.

Wyoming CF uses a rotating visitation schedule based on the last digit of the incarcerated person's DIN. The facility splits the population into segments by that digit and assigns each segment to alternating weekends. This means you can't assume every weekend is open for the person you want to see, even though visiting days are always on weekends.

Holiday exception: If a holiday falls on a visitation weekend, the facility opens visits to all incarcerated individuals with no DIN last-digit restriction. A DIN (Department Identification Number) is the internal DOCCS identifier assigned to each incarcerated person.

Build your day around two times: the visiting window (8:15 AM to 3:15 PM) and the latest arrival cutoff (2:15 PM). Aim to get there well before 2:15 PM so you have time for check-in and processing. The visiting room stays open until 3:15 PM, but arriving close to the cutoff leaves almost no margin if anything slows you down.

Wyoming CF allows one visit per day, per incarcerated individual. If multiple people want to see the same person, plan to go together (within the visitor limit) or split up across different visiting days.

Each visit at Wyoming CF allows a maximum of three adult visitors. You can also bring one child under age five, but that child must sit on an adult's lap. If your group is bigger than the limit, decide ahead of time who's going in so no one gets surprised at check-in.

If your loved one is in the Special Housing Unit (SHU) at Wyoming CF, visiting rules are tighter. They're allowed one non-legal visit within a seven-day period, and it has to take place during normal visitation hours.

Practical Checklist and Verification

  • Confirm the incarcerated person is currently assigned to Wyoming Correctional Facility using the DOCCS Lookup page.
  • Know the incarcerated person’s DIN, since Wyoming CF divides weekend visits by the last digit of the DIN on alternating weekends.
  • Count your group before you go (maximum three adult visitors per visit, plus one child under five who must sit on an adult’s lap).
  1. Plan to arrive early. The latest arrival time is 2:15 PM, even though visits run until 3:15 PM.
  2. Pick a realistic visit window. Visiting hours are 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM, so your actual time together depends on how early you check in.

Verify before you go: This overview doesn't cover required ID types, dress code specifics, parking instructions, visitor registration rules, permitted and prohibited items, or the step-by-step check-in process. Call the facility directly to confirm those details before you travel.

Before you call, confirm the incarcerated person's current facility assignment through the DOCCS Lookup page. That way you're checking rules for the right location and not making the trip based on outdated information.
