Public visiting at Yakima County Jail runs Monday through Friday only. No weekends, no holidays. Each inmate gets two 30-minute visits per week, so time slots fill up fast. Only two visitors are allowed per session, and children count toward that limit.

Before scheduling, find out your loved one's housing unit. Yakima County Jail assigns visiting days by unit, so the day you can book depends on where the person is housed.

Check the inmate's housing unit and find the assigned visiting day for that unit. The schedule is unit-specific (for example, 2nd Floor North units G through M visit on Monday and Thursday). Not sure which unit applies? Confirm it first, then schedule for the correct day so you don't waste a trip.

Call the Yakima County Jail scheduling line at 509-574-2929 to book your visit. The phone line is open 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekdays only (closed weekends and holidays).

Visits are appointment-only. You can't just show up. Public visits must be scheduled at least 2 business days in advance by calling 509-574-2929. The same 2-business-day rule applies to video visitation.

No Contact Orders: Visits are checked for court-ordered No Contact Orders. Any visit that would violate a No Contact Order will be canceled.
