The New Mail Rules at York County Prison: Where to Send Letters and How TextBehind Works

York County Prison no longer accepts regular mail at its physical address. To get a letter to someone inside, you have two options: send it electronically through TextBehind, or mail it to the vendor-processing address in Phoenix, Maryland.

TextBehind lets you send messages through their mobile app or website. You write your letter, they print it, and the prison delivers a copy to your loved one. The original gets destroyed after printing - so don't send anything you need back or want kept as an original.

If you'd rather mail a physical letter, send it to the vendor-processing address. Format your envelope exactly like this, with the inmate's name and ID number: Inmate and ID number York County Prison P.O. Box 247 Phoenix, MD 21131

Don't mail money. York County Prison won't accept personal checks, money orders, or cash sent through the mail. Leave them out of your letters.
