Mail, photos, and inmate packages: what families can and cannot send
For CDCR California state prisons, quarterly packages are not something you can mail in yourself. Family members cannot send inmate packages (quarterly packages) directly to people incarcerated in California State Prison. These packages are only available through authorized private vendors. The reason: reducing contraband and the time required to search incoming packages.
To send a quarterly package, choose a CDCR-authorized vendor storefront and order through that vendor (vendors must be CDCR-approved before they can provide services). If you have vendor-related questions, or you're a business trying to become a provider, CDCR directs inquiries to Lt. Victor Espinoza at Victor.Espinoza@cdcr.ca.gov.
Reminder: “Quarterly packages” and regular mail are not handled the same way. For letters and photos, always use the facility’s published mailing address and formatting rules so your mail is not rejected.
