Prohibited items, electronic device rules, and legal risks

Do not try to bring contraband into a Connecticut correctional facility. Connecticut law makes it a crime to convey items like controlled drugs, intoxicating liquor, firearms and other weapons, dangerous instruments or explosives, U.S. currency, and items that could aid an escape (like ropes or ladders). Electronic devices are a serious risk too. Possessing or conveying an electronic wireless communication device into a correctional institution, or using one to take a photographic or digital image inside, is also a crime. Violators will be prosecuted. If you're unsure whether something is allowed, contact the facility before you show up.
