Set up, schedule, and join video visits (Microsoft Teams)
Connecticut DOC video visits run through Microsoft Teams. Your device needs working video and audio, so a smartphone, laptop, or tablet works fine as long as it can run Teams. Video visits are free, but you'll need a valid email address to schedule one.
- Use an email you actually check. A valid email address is required to schedule a video visit.
- Wait for the facility’s confirmation. Your visit is not scheduled until the facility sends you a confirmation.
- Check your junk or spam folder. If you do not see the confirmation email, look there before you assume the request did not go through.
- Test Microsoft Teams ahead of time. Make sure you can join a Teams meeting and that your camera and microphone work.
When you request a video visit, include every adult who plans to participate. Authorized adult visitors must be listed on the request. Connecticut DOC allows up to three authorized adult visitors on a video visit. Youth who live in the household don't count toward that adult limit.
