Mail, photos, and special media programs (including Read-To-Me)

Mail and publication rules are policy-driven, so check the Department's policies before sending anything beyond a basic letter. KCCC directs readers to PSD policy COR 15.02 for mail and COR 15.05 for inmate access to publications.

Hawaii also offers special family-connection programs beyond standard mail. Read-To-Me International is one example: incarcerated parents choose a children's book, read it aloud, and record it on CD. The book and CD are then mailed to their family. The Department lists this program for WCCC, WCF, and Saguaro.
