Send money: central IDOC process, mailing address, and local options

IDOC prisons use centralized offender banking. All incoming money for spending and commissary accounts goes through Fort Dodge Correctional Facility. Mail deposits to the IDOC Offender Fiduciary Account at 1550 L Street, Suite B, Fort Dodge, IA 50501. Deposits must be a cashier's check or money order payable to "IDOC offender Fiduciary Account." Include the offender name, offender number, sender name, and sender's complete address.

For electronic deposits to an IDOC commissary account, Iowa DOC lists Access Corrections, JPay, and Western Union as options. County jails work differently. Scott County, for example, accepts deposits through the Team3 commissary website (debit or credit card, with registration and possible service fees), cash deposits at a lobby kiosk, or mailed money orders and cashier's checks. Scott County's published card limits are $150 per transaction and $500 every 30 days (both limits include service fees).
