How to send money, use kiosks, and order canteen packages
For Massachusetts state prisons, the state directs people to use Access Corrections and Secure Deposits to send money. You can deposit online, through the Access Corrections app, or by telephone. Deposits are made using a credit or debit card and are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All deposits must be issued in U.S. funds. Access Corrections only accepts money orders or checks drawn from U.S. financial institutions and only accepts U.S.-based addresses.
If you need help while making a state-prison deposit through Access Corrections, call the toll-free number: 1-866-345-1884. Some institutions also allow an in-person drop-off of a check or money order into an "Inmate Funds" box in the lobby. Call the institution to verify first. Make the check or money order out to the inmate with the commitment number included.
County facilities may offer additional options beyond online deposits. Middlesex Sheriff's Office allows funds to be deposited at a Visitor Center kiosk between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m., or by using Access Corrections or calling 866-345-1884. They accept MasterCard and Visa. Family and friends can also order canteen packages through the Middlesex Packages page or by calling 800-546-6283 (with ordering hours listed by the Sheriff's Office).
