Always follow the facility's deposit instructions, because accepted methods vary by jail. At Cheshire County, you can make cash or credit/debit card deposits to an inmate's personal account through a kiosk in the main lobby, by phone through JailATM (1-870-627-5476), or online through JailATM. Rockingham County does not accept cash. Money orders only are accepted via mail, made payable to "RCDC Inmate Account."

Some agencies use third-party payment services. Access Corrections offers services like sending money to an incarcerated person, meeting court-ordered financial obligations, posting bail payments, and making parole or probation payments. You may see this option when researching a particular facility. Separately, NHDOC's Community Reentry Field Services is responsible for collecting court-ordered fines, fees, and restitution, with case technicians working alongside Probation Parole Officers to collect and distribute these payments.

If your loved one is in federal custody, the Bureau of Prisons uses MoneyGram ExpressPayment to receive funds. Funds are received and processed seven days per week and post faster during 7:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m. EST. The BOP requires a specific MoneyGram format: the inmate's eight-digit register number immediately followed by their last name (example: 12345678DOE), receive code 7932, company name "Federal Bureau of Prisons," and city/state "Washington, DC."
