Want to grab something from the vending machines? Bring coins, but put them in a clear sandwich bag or transparent plastic pouch - that's the only way Farmington Correctional Center allows them in. A small see-through bag you can show quickly at check-in saves time at the door.

Life-sustaining medications and medical equipment are allowed, but keep things simple and documented. Nitroglycerin, insulin (with supplies), oxygen, and asthma inhalers must be in their original containers. Bring only the dosage you'll need during the visit - not a "just in case" supply, just what's necessary to stay safe for that window of time.

  • Notify the institutional case manager in advance that you’ll need medication during the visit.
  • Tell staff when you arrive that you have a medical need and may need to access medication during visitation.
  • Keep medications in their original containers so staff can verify what they are.

Infant

  • One clear carry-all (everything must fit inside)
  • Up to 6 diapers
  • 1 blanket
  • Up to 3 clear plastic bottles of prepared infant beverage
  • 1 clear plastic no-spill toddler cup
  • Up to 3 unopened vendor containers of baby food
  • 1 plastic pacifier (plus teether and/or rattle)
  • 1 small plastic spoon
  • 1 unopened package of baby wipes

Dress code issues are one of the most common reasons visits get delayed or denied. Farmington Correctional Center prohibits tight or overly baggy clothing, anything see-through or revealing, and items with gang symbols, racial imagery, or inflammatory language. Camouflage is also off-limits. When in doubt between two outfits, pick the more conservative one.

Legal warning: Under Missouri statute 217.360, it’s a criminal offense to bring drugs, alcoholic beverages, firearms, or any other article an offender isn’t permitted to possess into a correctional facility.
