Every Way to Put Money on an Inmate's Account at Alleghany Regional Jail

Alleghany Regional Jail lists four main ways to add money to an inmate’s account: the Oasis/Tech Friends lobby kiosk, online deposits (the jail’s materials mention both jailATM.com and accesscorrections.com), phone deposits, and mailing a money order. Most electronic options come with a service fee. One thing that trips people up: the jail is clear that money is not accepted at the business office window, so plan to use the kiosk, an online/phone vendor, or mail a money order instead.

If you want an in-person option, Alleghany Regional Jail has an Oasis/Tech Friends lobby kiosk located in the main lobby. It’s available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so you don’t have to time it around business hours.

The kiosk takes cash (no coins) and also accepts debit and credit cards. Bring a valid ID - according to the jail’s instructions, you must have one to leave money for an inmate. Expect a fee for using the kiosk service.

For online deposits, the jail’s information says you’ll need to create an account with the vendor you use (either Tech Friends/jailATM.com or Access Corrections/accesscorrections.com, depending on what’s currently set up for the facility). Online deposits also come with a fee, so the amount you pay at checkout may be more than the amount that ends up in the inmate’s account.
