How to Request Incident or Crash Reports from Allen County Records Bureau

Include the basics so a records clerk can find your report: the date and time of the incident or crash, the location, and the report number if you have it. The more precise your details, the faster they can pull the correct file - especially if multiple calls came in from the same area that day.

Email your request to records@acso-oh.us. This is the Records Bureau's dedicated address for crash and incident reports, and submitting in writing gives you a paper trail.

If you have a question about what to include or you’re not sure you have enough information to search, call the Records Bureau at 419-227-3535.

If your report includes photographs, those can be emailed to you at no charge. It's the fastest way to get images without a trip to the office.

Prefer to pick up reports in person? The Records Bureau is open Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm. Arrive within that window - outside those hours, the office is closed.

Hard copies picked up in person cost $0.04 per page for complaint reports and traffic crash reports. Longer reports mean more pages, so factor that into your budget.

Mailed or faxed reports also run $0.04 per page. If you choose mail, you'll need to prepay postage on top of the page fee.

Photographs can be emailed free or provided on a CD for $10. If you need a physical copy of the images, the CD makes sense. Otherwise, email is the no-cost option.
