No recording: Legal representatives and their staff may not audio- or video-record any virtual visit, in-person visit, or call with detained non-citizens at CAFCC.
CAFCC takes recording violations seriously. Break the no-recording rule and the facility may suspend your VAV access - or revoke it permanently. Set expectations with everyone on your team before the session starts.
During VAV sessions, a visitation officer is stationed outside the confidential room for safety and security. You may notice staff nearby, but the attorney-client meeting itself remains confidential.
CAFCC video visitation can also accommodate other confidential interviews - USCIS interviews, forensic medical evaluations, or child welfare matters. Availability varies, so scheduling depends on capacity.
