Virtual Attorney Visits at Florence: How the Zoom-Based VAV System Works

The VAV system at Central Arizona Florence Correctional Center runs on Zoom. It gives legal teams a timely way to meet with clients when an in-person visit isn't practical.

Note: VAV is an alternative to in-person meetings, not a replacement.

VAV sessions are strictly for legal purposes. Only attorneys, legal assistants, and interpreters can participate. Family members and friends aren't allowed to join.

Identification

Recording is prohibited: Legal representatives and their staff are not permitted to audio- or video-record any virtual or in-person visit, or any call with non-citizens at the facility. Violations may lead to suspension or permanent revocation of VAV user privileges.

The conversation is confidential, but security stays close. A visitation officer will be stationed outside the room while your client uses the VAV system.

Need language support? You can bring in an outside interpreter during the VAV call. This works well for less common languages or when you need a specific interpreter you already work with.

To schedule a VAV session at Central Arizona Florence Correctional Center, call 520-868-9095 or email cafccvisitation@corecivic.com. Have your bar documentation or identification ready - staff will ask for it before confirming your appointment.

Virtual Attorney Visits at Florence: How the Zoom-Based VAV System Works
  1. Test your Zoom setup ahead of time - use the device, camera, microphone, and internet connection you plan to use for the visit.
  2. Have your bar documentation ready - you’ll need to show appropriate identification (such as a bar card or other proof of bar membership) prior to the scheduled meeting.
  3. Confirm scheduling details with the facility - for VAV questions or to set the appointment, call 520-868-9095 or email cafccvisitation@corecivic.com.

Confidentiality and compliance: Set up in a private space on your end. A visitation officer will be stationed outside the room on the facility side. Don't record the session - recording any call or visit can result in suspension or permanent loss of VAV privileges.
