Cheyenne Unit Digital Mail: Where to Send Letters, Key Dates, and the Grace Period

Starting December 15, 2025, ADCRR is routing all incoming non-legal mail through a digital platform. Personal letters get sent to a central location, scanned, and delivered to the recipient's secure tablet or an electronic kiosk. Legal mail stays the same - it's not part of this change. Neither are packages, publications, or official government mail.

As of December 15, 2025, personal mail, greeting cards, and photos for someone at the Cheyenne Unit go to the Digital Processing Center - not the unit itself. Use this exact format so your mail gets matched correctly: Digital Processing Center Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry Inmate's Full First and Last Name + ADCRR Number Prison Complex, Assigned Unit PO Box 211309 Dallas, TX 75211

Heads up: After the switch, don’t use the Cheyenne Unit’s old mailing address for personal mail. For reference only, the pre-centralization listing was: Inmate Name and ADC #, P.O. Box 8909, San Luis, AZ 85349.

Packages and publications follow a different timeline and go to a different address. Starting January 7, 2026, send them here: Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry Inmate's Full First and Last Name + ADCRR Number Prison Complex, Assigned Unit 801 E Jefferson Street Phoenix, AZ 85034

There's a one-month grace period from December 15, 2025 through January 15, 2026. If you accidentally send personal mail to the prison complex instead of the Digital Processing Center during this window, ADCRR says they'll still process it. After January 15, 2026? Mail sent to the wrong address gets returned. Update your address book now to avoid the hassle. Remember: packages and publications have their own switch date - January 7, 2026 for the Phoenix address.
