How to Apply for Visiting Privileges (In-Person, Phone & Video) — Red Rock / ADCRR
Want to visit someone at ASPC-Red Rock? Start by submitting the ADCRR
To get approved for visiting privileges through ADCRR, you must submit the Application to Visit an Inmate electronically. This is the starting point for people who want in-person visits, video visits, and anyone applying for phone-related privileges through the same application process.
Watch the timing: Don’t submit a visitation application while the inmate is in the intake process at Alhambra or Perryville.
Complete Online Application Checklist
- ✓ Submit the Application to Visit an Inmate electronically (online)
- ✓ Double-check every information field before you hit submit
- ✓ Save anything that confirms you submitted (for your records)
Reminder: Fill out every field completely and truthfully. Submitting the form is you vouching that the information you provided is accurate.
After you apply, ADCRR runs a criminal background check on everyone who applies for visitation or phone call privileges. That review is part of the approval process, so plan for it even if you’ve visited other facilities before.
If you’re an adult applying for in-person/phone privileges and video visits, you’ll need to pay a one-time, non-refundable $25 background check fee. “One-time” means it’s not a recurring charge for each visit, but it also means you shouldn’t wait to handle it - your application can’t move forward if required steps aren’t completed.
Phone-only applicants: The process can be handled differently if you only want to accept phone calls. Read the application instructions carefully so you don’t pay or submit items you don’t need.
When a payment is required, ADCRR requires it to be made electronically. Build that into your plan early so you’re not scrambling close to the deadline, especially if you’re coordinating with other family members or gathering supporting paperwork.
- Find your Application Visitor ID number - keep it where you can easily retrieve it (a screenshot or written note works).
- Submit the electronic payment - have your Application Visitor ID number in front of you when you pay, because you’ll need it to complete the transaction.
30-day deadline: Any applicable background check fee and any required supporting documents must be received within 30 days of your application date, or the application will be considered incomplete and won’t be processed.
Once ADCRR has received your required payment (if it applies to you) and any supporting documentation, allow up to 60 days for the application to be processed. If you’re trying to line up travel or coordinate with kids’ schedules, plan around that window rather than assuming approval will be quick.
- Check your dates - confirm the application date you submitted, then count 30 days forward.
- Confirm what was required for your situation - some applicants owe the background check fee and/or need supporting documents, and missing either can stop processing.
- Act before the deadline if you can - if something hasn’t been received yet, re-send what’s required as soon as possible so your application doesn’t end up marked incomplete.
- If you’re past 30 days, plan to start over - applications missing required fees/documents after 30 days are considered incomplete and won’t be processed.
