New Mailing Rules for Santa Rita Unit: Where to Send Letters, Packages, Legal Mail (Dec 2025–Jan 2026)
The older inmate-mail address for Santa Rita Unit is still listed on ADCRR's prison mailing addresses page: Inmate Name and ADC #, P.O. Box 24401, Tucson, AZ 85734.
As of December 15, 2025, personal mail for Santa Rita inmates - letters, greeting cards, and photos - must go to the Digital Processing Center in Dallas for scanning. This address handles non-legal personal mail only. Legal mail, packages, publications, and official government mail each have separate addresses and rules.

- ✓ Address it with: the inmate’s full first and last name + ADCRR number + prison complex + assigned unit
- ✓ Want the originals back after scanning? Include a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) with your correspondence
Beginning January 7, 2026, packages and publications for Santa Rita inmates go to the centralized Phoenix processing address: 801 E Jefferson Street, Phoenix, AZ 85034. Legal mail also goes to this Phoenix address - but unlike personal mail, it won't be scanned.
Note: Legal mail will not be scanned. Send legal mail to the centralized Phoenix mail processing address: 801 E Jefferson Street, Phoenix, AZ 85034.
Official government mail - Veterans, Social Security, or Disability checks - switches to a new address on January 7, 2026. Send it to: ADCRR Inmate Trust Accounts Section, 1802 W Jackson Street, #161, Phoenix, AZ 85007.
ADCRR is allowing a one-month grace period from December 15, 2025 through January 15, 2026. During this window, personal mail mistakenly sent to Santa Rita (or other prison complexes) instead of the Digital Processing Center will still be processed and delivered. After January 15, 2026, improperly addressed mail will be returned to sender.
