New Mailing Rules for Santa Rita Unit: Where to Send Letters, Packages, and Official Mail (Dec 2025–Jan 2026)
If you mail someone at ASPC Tucson, Santa Rita Unit, the addresses are changing. Here's exactly where to send personal letters, packages, publications, and official government checks, plus the key transition dates you need to know.
ADCRR is rolling out new centralized mailing addresses, with a one-month grace period for families to adjust. From December 15, 2025 through January 15, 2026, mail accidentally sent to the prison complex (instead of the new centralized addresses) will still be processed and delivered to the person in custody. After January 15, 2026, anything still going to the old address gets returned to sender.
Two dates matter most. Starting December 15, 2025, personal mail (letters, greeting cards, photos) for Santa Rita must go to a Digital Processing Center in Dallas. Then on January 7, 2026, packages and publications (books, magazines) switch to a centralized Phoenix address. Official government mail, like Veterans, Social Security, or Disability checks, also starts going to the Inmate Trust Accounts Section in Phoenix on that same date.
Starting December 15, 2025, send all non-legal personal mail for Santa Rita to the Digital Processing Center at: PO Box 211309, Dallas, TX 75211. That covers letters, greeting cards, and photos.
Note: Santa Rita previously used a Tucson P.O. Box for unit-level mail. During the grace period (December 15, 2025 through January 15, 2026), items sent to the prison complex instead of the new address will still be processed. After January 15, 2026, they'll be returned to sender.
Starting January 7, 2026, packages and publications for Santa Rita go to the same centralized Phoenix address: Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry, 801 E Jefferson Street, Phoenix, AZ 85034. Whether you're sending a care package or a publisher is shipping books and magazines, use this address from that date forward.
Reminder: The grace period runs through January 15, 2026. After that date, items still sent to the prison complex will be returned to sender.
Starting January 7, 2026, official government mail for Santa Rita (Veterans checks, Social Security checks, Disability checks) must go to ADCRR's Inmate Trust Accounts Section: 1802 W Jackson Street, #161, Phoenix, AZ 85007.
Santa Rita's old unit-level address is: P.O. Box 24401, Tucson, AZ 85734. If you use that address during the grace period (December 15, 2025 through January 15, 2026), ADCRR says the mail will still be processed and delivered. From January 15, 2026 onward, anything still going to that old address will be returned to sender.
If your mail seems stuck during the transition, here's what to know. ADCRR's digital-mail partner Securus says it will take all reasonable steps to process, scan, and make incoming mail digitally available within 3 business days of receipt. For help with mail processing or access issues, Securus Customer Service is available 24/7 at (800) 844-6591.
