Visiting Benton County Jail: How the Video Visits, Time Blocks, and Trustee Hours Work

Benton County Jail uses video-only visitation for all inmates. You can do your visit on-site (at the jail, using their video visitation setup) or remotely (from your own device).

For on-site visits, general population video sessions run Monday through Friday in three time blocks: 0800–1015, 1200–1315, and 1800–1915. You'll be at the jail, but the visit itself is still a video session - so hitting your time block matters more than anything else. Give yourself extra time to arrive and check in. These slots are short, and you don't want to lose minutes to the sign-in process.

Remote video visits are available seven days a week during the same three time blocks: 0800–1015, 1200–1315, and 1800–1915. The difference? Cost. Remote visits are at your expense, so set up payment with the jail's video visitation provider before your scheduled time.

Each inmate gets two visits per week, and each session lasts fifteen (15) minutes. That's not much time. Think about what you want to cover beforehand so you can make every minute count.

If the person you're visiting is a trustee, the jail offers extended hours to work around their job schedule. Trustee visitation runs Sunday–Monday with these windows: 0500–0515, 0800–1015, 1200–1715, and 1815–2300. Here's the catch: visits must be scheduled during the inmate's non-working hours. The right window depends on when they're assigned to work that day.

Note: For trustee inmates, visits must be scheduled during their non-working hours, even though the overall trustee visitation hours are longer.

Checklist

  • Decide whether you’re doing an on-site video visit (at the jail) or a remote video visit (from home).
  • Pick a time block that matches the type of visit you’re doing: on-site general population is Monday–Friday (0800–1015, 1200–1315, 1800–1915); remote visits run seven days a week in those same blocks.
  • Plan around the limit: two visits per week per inmate, and each visit is 15 minutes.
  • If you’re visiting a trustee, use the trustee hours (Sunday–Monday: 0500–0515, 0800–1015, 1200–1715, 1815–2300) and make sure you schedule during their non-working hours.
  • For on-site visits, confirm the jail’s current check-in and ID requirements before you go, and arrive early enough to avoid losing time from your slot.
