Receiving calls from Bingham County Jail: choosing a payment option
Choose how to pay for calls from Bingham County Jail: a prepaid communication account, collect billing or card payment. The person in custody must call you, rather than you calling them directly.
You cannot call someone in custody directly at Bingham County Jail. They must phone you. Jail Exchange identifies GettingOut, a GTL/Viapath company, as the phone service for Bingham County Detention Center, also known as Bingham County Jail.
During booking, the person in custody supplies a limited list of people they want to call or have visit. The facility must approve those contacts first.
Jail Exchange describes two GettingOut prepaid choices with different control over communication funds. With the INMATE ACCOUNT, the person in custody decides how to spend the money on calls to approved numbers or other communication services available at the facility.
With the FRIENDS & FAMILY ACCOUNT, Jail Exchange says you control communication spending and the phone number the person in custody can call. This is the described option if you want control over calls to your chosen number rather than giving the person in custody control over the communication balance. Both options fund communication services, not a commissary deposit.
A collect call is an alternative if your landline service accepts collect calls. When you accept the call, its charges go onto your landline account and appear on your next phone bill. Additional carrier fees or restrictions may apply; mobile phones usually do not accept collect calls.
Quick Connect lets you pay by card for an incoming call instead of accepting a collect charge on your phone bill. Jail Exchange describes using a debit or credit card on file, with the call billed immediately to that card. When the call arrives, follow the automated voice system’s instructions to pay for that one call.
For GettingOut service questions, call customer service at 866-516-0115. You can also use that number for information about setting up purchased call credits by phone.
If you have trouble receiving collect calls, contact your own phone-service provider. That is your carrier, not GettingOut; your landline provider may also be different from your mobile provider.
