The facility keeps meal money under tight control. All payments go into a secured, locked box - nothing gets left out or mixed with other funds.

  1. Transfer the meal money each business day - Collected meal funds must be turned over to the Fiscal Manager or Fiscal Officer every business day.

After the daily transfer, funds remain secured in a locked box or safe until they're deposited or sent to the Fiscal Branch.

The facility also tracks who eats. Boyd Co Detention Center maintains a daily meal log for all staff and visitors.

  • Forward a check or money order to the Fiscal Branch at least monthly
  • Include a copy of the supporting meal log with the payment
  • Make the check or money order payable to the Kentucky State Treasurer

Exception: Community Advisory Committee (CAC) members are not charged for meals when they’re meeting for CAC purposes.
