How to Prepare for Your First Visit to Brooks County Detention Center

To visit Brooks County Detention Center, you must be listed on the incarcerated person's Visitation Form, with an exception for children under 18 described below. The person receives this form when they are assigned a cell.

Get your assigned visit day and time from the person you are visiting. Their visit time is based on their cell assignment.

The detention center is at 901 County Road 201, Falfurrias, TX 78355. Before you travel, confirm your visit information with the facility at (361) 325-3340.

Bring current, valid photo identification, such as a driver's license. On your first visit you must also complete a Visitor Information Form, and you will then be checked for outstanding warrants.

If you bring a child under 18, they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is on the approved visitor list. The child does not need to be separately listed.

Exceptions and special visit requests go through a Corrections Officer to a Shift Supervisor for approval. A Shift Supervisor may extend a visit because of the distance you traveled, infrequent past visits or another reason, but an extension is not guaranteed.

For help with facility or visitation questions, call (361) 325-3340.
