How Broome County's Visitation Schedule Actually Works (days, housing groups, and limits)
Broome County runs visitation mostly on weekdays, and the hours depend on where your person is housed. Here's the schedule broken down by housing group, plus the limits that affect how much time you actually get.
General Housing visits run Monday through Friday, with different time blocks each day. Monday offers three windows: 8:30 AM–11:30 AM, 1:00 PM–2:30 PM, and 6:00 PM–10:00 PM. Tuesday is evenings only, 6:00 PM–10:00 PM. Wednesday has two windows - 1:00 PM–2:30 PM and 6:00 PM–8:30 PM. Thursday and Friday both have three windows: 8:30 AM–11:30 AM, 1:00 PM–2:30 PM, and 6:00 PM–10:00 PM.
Different schedule for I/Max-Female, Special Housing, or D-Pod (Restricted/Medical). On Tuesday, visiting hours are 8:30 AM–11:30 AM and 1:00 PM–2:30 PM. Wednesday offers 8:30 AM–11:30 AM and 9:00 PM–10:00 PM.
Note: The facility reserves the right to change, alter, or reassign visitation times as needed.
Closed days: Visitation is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and all Broome County holidays.
General Housing inmates get up to two hours of contact visitation per week. You can use that time during morning, afternoon, or evening blocks - it's not locked to one part of the day. Just visit during the posted hours for that housing group.
Individual visits can run anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours. One long visit could use the entire weekly allowance, or a shorter visit might leave time for another. The only rule: visits can't be under 30 minutes.
Here's how scheduling works: the incarcerated person sets up visitation times, not you. Once scheduled, visits happen only at that time - you can't split your allotted time across different hours or days.
Note: Even when a visit is scheduled, the facility can change, alter, or reassign visitation times as needed.
Capacity matters too, especially during the day. Between 8:00 AM and 2:30 PM, only ten (10) adult visitors are allowed in the visitation area at once.
- ✓ If there’s overflow, the facility may limit the number of adult visitors per inmate at a time.
- ✓ When space is tight, visitors may be prioritized on a first-come, first-served basis.
