Leave your electronics behind. Cell phones, tablets, and smart watches aren't allowed in the Visiting Room at Centralia. If you show up with any of these, you'll be told to secure them before going further. Easiest move? Leave them in your car and bring only what you actually need.

  • Food
  • Drink
  • Smoking materials

  • Packages
  • Purses
  • Bags

Brought something you can't take inside? Centralia has small lockers in the Visiting Center where you can stash a few basics before heading through.

  • One key fob or car door key (without remote attachment)
  • One locker key
  • If issued: one jacket or coat appropriate for the weather

Medication rules are strict. Pills and other medications aren't allowed in the Visiting Room - with two exceptions: physician-prescribed heart medication and asthma inhalers. If you need lifesaving medication during your visit, staff will handle it. Any required medication must be delivered to the officer's station in the Visiting Room, where it's held until you need it.

  • Bring heart medication in a properly labeled container
  • Expect required medication to be kept at the officer’s station/desk in the Visiting Room (not carried with you at your seat)

Restroom policy: If you use the restroom during your visit, you will be subject to search after you return.

Expect a search before entry. All visitors must submit to a body search by officers at the Visitor Center - it's a condition of getting in.

Show up intoxicated or under the influence? You won't be allowed in.
