Who Pays for Calls and How to Send Money to Someone at Centralia
Staying connected with someone at Centralia Correctional Center means understanding how phone calls get paid for and which money-transfer options Illinois DOC accepts. Here's how the main funding methods work, plus what to watch for with limits and money orders.
Phone calls can be paid through an ICSolutions Friends & Family Prepaid account. You set up and fund this account yourself, and it covers the cost of calls you receive from the person in custody.
The other option: the person in custody buys calling minutes through commissary using their trust account. You fund their account, and they use that balance to purchase phone time.
To send spending money to someone at Centralia, Illinois DOC accepts deposits through JPay. It's one of the standard electronic options for adding funds to an incarcerated person's account.
Western Union is another accepted option, using their Send2Corrections service. It's simply another approved way to get money onto the person's account.
MoneyGram works too, but it has a lower per-transaction limit. Most electronic deposit methods allow up to $5,000, while MoneyGram caps transactions at $3,000 each.
Sending a money order? Don't mail it to Centralia Correctional Center. Illinois DOC requires money orders to go to the JPay lockbox, made payable to JPay. Mail it with the deposit slip to: PO Box 260250, Hollywood, FL 33026.
- ✓ Individual in custody’s name
- ✓ IDOC number
- ✓ Sender’s name
- ✓ Sender’s address
- ✓ Lockbox deposit slip (included with the money order)
MoneyGram deposits max out at $3,000 per transaction. Need to send more? Use another approved method or split it into separate deposits.
Money orders can't exceed $999.99. Follow the deposit slip instructions carefully and keep all information complete and readable so funds get applied correctly.
Caller ID to expect: Calls from Centralia Correctional Center may show up as (618) 952-2622.
