When Can an Inmate Call? Phone Hours & Rules at Butler County Jail
Waiting for a call from jail is stressful enough without guessing when phones are even on. Here's the phone schedule at Butler County Jail, plus the rules that affect when and how long your loved one can call.
Phones turn on at 8:00 a.m. each day. If you're hoping for a morning call, that's the earliest one can come through.
Phones shut off at 10:30 p.m. daily. Don't expect calls after that.
There are also blackout periods during meals: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. If you miss a call during those windows, that's why.
You can't call in. Butler County Jail doesn't allow incoming calls for inmates - you'll need to wait for them to call you.
When other inmates are waiting to use the phone, calls are capped at 15 minutes.
Calls go out one of two ways: collect (local or long distance) or through a pre-paid phone card your loved one buys from commissary. Unless they've got a prepaid card, be ready to accept collect charges when the phone rings.
