How to Send Money to Someone at Cimarron Correctional Facility (Lockbox & Western Union)

Cimarron Correctional Facility doesn't accept cash during visits or through regular mail. You have two options: mail a money order or cashier's check to the lockbox address, or send funds electronically through Western Union/Send2Corrections.

Note: For lockbox deposits, use a money order or cashier’s check - cash and personal checks aren’t accepted. Also make sure the payment is made payable to the person receiving the funds.

For lockbox deposits, use a money order or cashier's check only. Personal checks and cash won't be accepted - send the wrong payment type and your deposit won't go through.

Make the money order or cashier's check payable to the incarcerated person - their name goes on the "pay to" line. Double-check this before mailing.

Addressing mistakes are the most common reason deposits get delayed. Copy this format exactly. Put your name and return address on the outside of the envelope, then address it to: CORECIVIC Inmate Last name, First name, Commissary Number Facility: P.O. BOX 16545 Atlanta, GA 30321-0545

Note: If information on the envelope is missing or incorrect - especially the name or commissary number - your deposit can be delayed.

Keep the lockbox envelope simple - money only. Don't include letters, cards, photos, or anything else with your payment. Items sent to the lockbox address won't be forwarded to the facility.

Important: Anything you include with the payment (photos, notes, cards) will not be forwarded to your loved one - and it won’t be returned to you.

Sending funds through Western Union/Send2Corrections? Have the person's full name and commissary number ready before you start. The commissary number is required for the transfer to credit correctly.

How to Send Money to Someone at Cimarron Correctional Facility (Lockbox & Western Union)
  1. Get the commissary number and full name - you’ll need them for Western Union/Send2Corrections, and the commissary number is also part of the lockbox address format.
  2. Choose your method (lockbox or Western Union/Send2Corrections) - the facility won’t accept money at visitation or through regular mail, so use one of these approved options.
  3. If using lockbox, buy the right payment type - use a money order or cashier’s check only; don’t send cash or a personal check.
  4. Make the payment payable to the recipient - write the incarcerated person’s name on the “pay to” line.
  5. Address the envelope exactly - include your return address, and use the inmate’s last name, first name, and commissary number, mailed to CORECIVIC P.O. BOX 16545, Atlanta, GA 30321-0545.
  6. Mail only the payment - nothing else - don’t add letters, photos, cards, or packages in the lockbox envelope because they won’t be forwarded or returned.
  7. If using Western Union/Send2Corrections, enter the name/number in the required format - use the commissary number plus the person’s full name (see the example above).

You can't bring money during a visit or send it through regular mail. Cimarron Correctional Facility only accepts deposits through the lockbox or Western Union/Send2Corrections.
