What You Can Bring for a New Inmate at Cocke County Jail

You can bring up to five white t-shirts for a new inmate at Cocke County Jail. That's the full shirt allowance at intake - white only, and extras won't be accepted.

Up to five pairs of white socks are also allowed. Socks are one of the few items the jail accepts from you when someone first arrives.

Underwear rounds out the list: up to five pairs of white underwear. Stick to the approved color and quantity so you don't waste a trip.

These items must be purchased new and brought in the original store bag. No used clothing - even if it's clean - and no rebagging at home. Bring them exactly as they came from the store.

Anything outside the approved intake items won't be accepted as a drop-off. If you're unsure whether something qualifies, assume it needs to go through commissary.
