How to Set Up Your First Video Visit at Columbiana County Jail

Video visiting is the only option at Columbiana County Jail, so your first visit starts with setting up a Securus account and getting approved. Here's how the process works, step by step.

As of August 28, 2022, all visitation at Columbiana County Jail happens by video. There are no in-person visits. If you were expecting a face-to-face meeting, that's why you're being routed through the video visit process instead.

First, you'll need a Securus account. You can create one on the Securus website or through the Securus mobile app on a smartphone or tablet. Once your account is set up, you can move on to the approval step.

Having a Securus account doesn't mean you can schedule visits right away. You still need to request access to visitation, and that requires submitting a photo of yourself. The facility uses this to verify your identity before letting you into the system.

You'll also need to submit a photo of a government-issued ID. Once everything is submitted, there's a waiting period while your access is reviewed. Only after you're approved can you start requesting and scheduling video visits.

Once you're approved, plan ahead. Columbiana County Jail requires outside visitors to request video visits at least 12 hours in advance, so same-day scheduling usually won't work. If you have a specific day or time in mind, submit your request early enough to meet that cutoff.

Remote visits (from home or anywhere outside the jail) come with a fee through Securus. The jail lists both 20-minute and 40-minute paid session options. Prices can change, so check the current rates in Securus when you're scheduling. That way you'll know the cost before you confirm.

There's one exception worth knowing about. Video visits conducted onsite in the jail lobby are free. If the remote visit fees are a barrier, ask about scheduling a lobby video visit instead.

If your access request is stuck, your documents keep getting rejected, or you just can't get a visit scheduled, contact the Columbiana County Corrections Division at (330) 424-4065. Need to send paperwork by fax? The Corrections Division fax number is (330) 424-0119.
