Bringing Your Baby to CRC Visits: What You Can (and Can't) Pack in Your Diaper Bag
Bringing an infant to CRC? Pack light and pack clear. The facility allows clear diaper bags, but what you can put inside is limited to a short, specific list. Decide what you actually need for the visit and leave everything else in the car.
- ✓ A clear diaper bag with a reasonable number of diapers and baby wipes
- ✓ Up to three clear plastic baby bottles
- ✓ Up to three clear plastic containers of baby food
- ✓ One pacifier
Leave your usual bag behind. CRC doesn't allow purses, handbags, backpacks, or similar items into the visitation area. All your baby essentials need to fit in the approved clear diaper bag.
- Pick one clear diaper bag and make it your only bag - since purses and backpacks aren’t permitted, consolidate everything into a single clear bag.
- Pack diapers and wipes only (keep it reasonable) - bring what you’ll need for the visit, not your full-day supply.
- Count out bottles and baby food before you leave - you can bring up to three clear plastic baby bottles and up to three clear plastic containers of baby food.
- Bring just one pacifier - if your baby uses one, choose a single pacifier and keep it easy to find in the clear bag.
Packing ID
- ✓ Pre-portion bottles and baby food into clear plastic containers so you stay within the “up to three” limit for each
- ✓ Pack only one pacifier (not a spare) so you don’t accidentally go over the limit
- ✓ Keep wipes and the next diaper you’ll need near the top of the clear bag for a faster check and easier access during the visit
Reminder: Bring documentation naming the child’s custodial parent or legal guardian (a birth certificate or custodial court order) to every visit.
