Address mail to your loved one by name and send it to: Inmate's Name, 208 W Carlisle St, Marion, KY 42064. That exact format helps your letter get routed correctly - skip it and you risk delays or returns.

Crittenden County Jail doesn't accept unapproved inmate-to-inmate mail. That includes "forwarding" mail for someone who's incarcerated. If friends or family send mail on another inmate's behalf, the jail will return it.

Photo Rules

  • Keep photos 4x6 or smaller.
  • Print photos on photo paper only.
  • Don’t send photos printed on copy paper; they will be returned to the sender or placed in the inmate’s property.

Warning: Any pictures that show revealing clothing or nudity can cause the entire package of photos to be returned to the sender.

Inmates can receive up to 15 photos per month. Send more than that, and the extras come back to you. Don't try to work around the limit by routing photos through other inmates - if you do, your loved one could lose all the photos in their cell for six months.

Due to COVID-19, the jail doesn't allow property to be mailed in or dropped off. Items like sweats, undergarments, and socks have to be ordered through commissary using the kiosk in the inmate's cell. Those orders ship directly from the commissary supplier.

Newspaper subscriptions are allowed as long as they’re sent from the newspaper office and addressed in the inmate’s name. Magazine subscriptions are not accepted.

Want something faster than mail? You can send messages, photos, and video messages through GettingOut. Set up an account and add funds to get started. You can also deposit money into the inmate's account so they can use these services themselves.

  • Messages: $0.25 each
  • Photos: $0.25 each
  • Video messages: $0.35 each
  • You may also place funds on the inmate’s account for these services
  1. Re-check the address - Use the inmate’s name and the jail’s mailing address exactly: 208 W Carlisle St, Marion, KY 42064.
  2. Make sure you’re not forwarding inmate mail - Unapproved inmate-to-inmate mail isn’t accepted, and mail sent on behalf of another inmate will be returned.
  3. Fix photo format problems before re-sending - Photos must be 4x6 or smaller and printed on photo paper (not copy paper), or they may be returned or placed in property.
