How to Send Money to Facility
Need to put money on someone's account in VADOC? Don't send cash or checks to the prison. Use the approved JPay money-order process so your deposit actually gets accepted and processed on time.
Don't mail money to VADOC facilities or headquarters. That means no cash, no checks, nothing with monetary value. If you send it anyway, it'll be rejected, and that usually means delays and a lot of frustration.
For mailed deposits, VADOC directs you to send money orders through JPay. You'll need to include a deposit slip with the money order. Mail it to: JPay, P.O. Box 278170, Miramar, FL 33027. Once JPay receives it, funds are typically available to the inmate within three business days.
Steps to Follow
- ✓ Get a money order, include a deposit slip, and mail it to JPay at P.O. Box 278170, Miramar, FL 33027.
- ✓ Do not mail cash, checks, or other monetary items to any VADOC facility or headquarters. Those mailed items will be rejected.
- ✓ After JPay receives the mailed money order, expect the funds to be available to the inmate within three business days.
Before you send anything, double-check the mailing address and make sure you have the deposit slip. Right now, the instructions are to mail money orders with a deposit slip to JPay at P.O. Box 278170, Miramar, FL 33027. Procedures can change, though, and even a small mistake can slow things down.
Note: Never mail cash or checks to the facility or VADOC headquarters. They will be rejected. Confirm you're using the approved JPay process before mailing your deposit.
If timing matters, factor in delivery time. VADOC's guidance says funds are available within three business days after JPay receives the money order, so however long it takes your envelope to arrive is added to that wait.
