How to Get VINE Alerts and Written Release Notices for Someone at District 12 (Lawrenceburg)
Want to know when someone at District 12 (Lawrenceburg) is released or has a custody status change? Kentucky VINE can help. Your registration is confidential. The offender or respondent will never know you signed up. That privacy matters, whether you are planning ahead, protecting yourself, or just trying to avoid being caught off guard.
You can register for Kentucky VINE three ways: on VINELink.com, by phone at 1-800-511-1670, or by TTY at 1-866-847-1298. Whichever method you choose, save any confirmation information you receive. You may need it later to update your alerts or verify your registration.
- ✓ Go to VINELink.com or call 1-800-511-1670 (TTY: 1-866-847-1298)
- ✓ Search for the person you want alerts for
- ✓ Choose the notification options you want and enter the contact method(s) you will actually check
- ✓ Save any confirmation details you receive and keep them somewhere safe
VINE is one option. Kentucky also offers a separate written notice request. Under KRS 197.170, victims can request written notification of an offender's release from a Kentucky Department of Corrections facility. You will need to mail a written request along with the Department of Corrections form.
- ✓ Your name
- ✓ Your current mailing address
- ✓ Your phone number
- ✓ The offender’s name
- ✓ The offender’s institutional number (if you know it)
- ✓ The Kentucky Department of Corrections form
Mail the written request to: Kentucky Department of Corrections Victim Services Branch P.O. Box 2400, Room G-46 Frankfort, KY 40602
Once you register with VINE (online, by phone, or by TTY), you will receive alerts when custody status changes. If you mailed a written request under KRS 197.170, make sure it includes your current contact information, the offender's details, and the DOC form. Send everything to the Victim Services Branch address listed above. If time passes and you are not sure your request was received, follow up with the Kentucky Department of Corrections Victim Services Branch. Use the same channel you originally used to submit, and have your confirmation details ready so they can locate your information quickly.
Tip: Keep a copy of anything you mail, and write down the date you sent it. For VINE, save your confirmation details so you can update your registration later if your phone number, email, or address changes.
Update Contacts
- ✓ Re-check your VINE registration occasionally to confirm your phone number, email, and any other contact methods are still correct
- ✓ If you move, update your mailing address anywhere you requested written notifications so notices do not go to an old address
- ✓ Use contact info you reliably monitor (for example, a phone you keep charged and with you)
- ✓ Keep a simple log of what you signed up for, when you signed up, and any confirmation details you were given
