How to Sign Up for VINE Alerts in Kentucky: Get Notified of Custody and Release Changes
Trying to keep track of someone's custody status in Kentucky? VINE takes the guesswork out of it. Check status anonymously and set up automated alerts — no more calling or searching every day.
VINE is a free, confidential service that lets you anonymously check an offender’s custody and protective order status and register for automated notifications. You can use it to stay informed without having to contact a jail or agency directly every time you need an update.
- Call VINE to register - Dial 1-800-511-1670 and follow the prompts to set up notifications.
- Save your registration details - As you complete registration, keep any confirmation information in a safe place so you can manage your alerts later.
You can also register online at VINELink.com or through the VINELink mobile app. The app is handy if you want to handle everything from your phone.
TTY: If you use TTY, you can access VINE at 1-866-847-1298.
After you register, VINE sends automated notifications when custody or protective order status changes. You pick how you want to be reached during sign-up: phone, email, text, or through the VINELink app.
Tip: If you have the option, set up more than one way to receive alerts (for example, email plus text) so you’re less likely to miss a notification.
Victims who need written notification of an offender's release can request it under Kentucky law. KRS 197.170 allows you to submit a written request to the Kentucky Department of Corrections Victim Services Branch. Mail your request to P.O. Box 2400, Room G-46, Frankfort, KY 40602.
