1. Write the complete facility name and state - Use the full facility name (no abbreviations) and include the state so it routes correctly for electronic delivery.
2. Add the incarcerated person’s full name and 8-digit unique identifier - Both are required for the system to match your mail to the right person.
3. Include your full name and physical address - Your sender information needs to be complete (not just a name) for processing.

Don't mail checks or money orders to the Phoenix, MD digital-mail address. Same goes for privileged or legal mail - it shouldn't go there either. Those items need to follow the facility's standard guidelines, not the digital-mail process.

Books are the one exception. The digital-mail process doesn't apply to books sent directly from the publisher or from reputable, verified online (.com) retailers - those can be mailed normally.
