What to Bring (and What to Leave Home) for Visiting Day at East Moline
A little prep goes a long way on visiting day. Use this checklist to make sure you have the right ID, keep prohibited items out of the Visiting Room, and avoid delays at check-in at East Moline.
If you're 18 or older, you'll need to complete a Prospective Visitor's Interview (PVI) form (DOC 0148) before your first visit. This applies to most adult visitors. Legal visitors and government officials are exempt. For everyone else, getting the PVI handled ahead of time means a smoother check-in when you arrive.
You generally need to be on the incarcerated person's approved visitation list before you can visit. The main exceptions are children, government officials, and legal visitors. Not sure if you're approved? The facility won't confirm your status over the phone. Your best bet is to ask the incarcerated person directly (by letter, for example) so you don't make the trip only to get turned away.
