Sending Books, Religious Materials, and Packages to Eastern Correctional

TextBehind is meant for letter mail, not packages. If you try to send a package through TextBehind, it won’t be delivered - TextBehind will return the package to the sender.

Books and publications can't be mailed in by individuals like regular personal mail. They must be ordered from the publisher or an online retailer and shipped directly to the prison using the facility's street address - not through TextBehind.

1. Buy the publication through a publisher or online retailer - Personal “from home” book shipments aren’t allowed.
2. Enter the prison’s street address as the shipping address - Don’t use TextBehind for books or other publications.
3. Use the incarcerated person’s information exactly as required - The order needs to be clearly addressed to the person at the facility so it can be processed correctly.
4. Expect inspection before delivery - Like other incoming items, publications are reviewed for security before they’re given to your loved one.

Sending religious correspondence course items or sacred texts? Don't include them in a TextBehind letter - they'll be returned. Approved religious course materials, sacred texts, and Bible study materials must be mailed directly to the facility from the vendor, school, or religious institution. Once received, staff will inspect the materials and route them through the facility's religious services department.

Considering rechargeable electronics through an approved package vendor? Check compatibility first. Some prisons don't have the infrastructure for rechargeable devices, and it's your responsibility to confirm the item works with the facility's specific conditions and restrictions before ordering.
