What to Wear (and Not Wear) When Visiting Eastern Correctional Institution
Dress code problems are one of the easiest ways to lose a visit. Follow the rules below to pick an outfit that meets the hem-length standards and clears entry screening without issues.
Bermuda-length shorts are allowed at Eastern Correctional Institution, as long as the hem falls no more than three inches above the kneecap. Not sure about the length? Go a little longer. You want to be clearly within the limit when standing, sitting, and walking through the entry area.
Dresses and skirts are allowed for female visitors, but the same three-inches-above-the-kneecap rule applies. That limit also covers any slit. A skirt that meets the length requirement can still get you turned away if the slit rises more than three inches above the kneecap when you move or sit.
Note: All visitors must pass through a metal detector before entry. Choose clothing and accessories with that in mind, since metal items can slow you down or get you stopped at screening.
