What You Can (and Can’t) Bring to Visitation at Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex

You can bring money into the visiting room at Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex (EKCC), but there's a strict limit: $30 maximum, in $1 bills and/or silver change only. No larger bills allowed. Break your cash down before you arrive - showing up with a $20 won't get you in.

  • Carry your cash in a clear container.
  • Use a clear plastic baggie or a clear coin purse (either works).
  • Keep it simple: a small clear zip bag with your $1 bills and coins is an easy way to meet the requirement.

Jewelry-rules

  • One watch
  • One ring
  • One necklace
  • One pair of earrings

No bracelets: EKCC prohibits bracelets for visitors - don’t wear one in, even if it’s small or sentimental.

Front-lobby-lockers

  • Vehicle keys (leave them in the front lobby lockers)
  • Jackets and sweaters (store them in the front lobby lockers)
  • Umbrellas (store them in the front lobby lockers)

Bring something that's not allowed? EKCC will send you back to your car with it. Save yourself the trip: do a quick pocket check before you head inside and leave anything questionable in your vehicle.

Don’t leave items at reception: Anything you leave in front reception that isn’t allowed in the visiting room will be disposed of by staff.
