Sending Money to Someone at ERDCC: JPay, MoneyGram and Mail Options
If you need to put money on someone's account at ERDCC, you have three solid options: an electronic transfer through JPay, a cash payment at a MoneyGram location, or a mailed money order or cashier's check. The best choice depends on your priorities. JPay is fastest, MoneyGram lets you pay in cash in person, and mailing a money order or cashier's check gives you a paper trail.
JPay lets you deposit funds into an offender's account electronically. It's the easiest route if you don't want to visit a store or mail anything.
Tip: If this is your first time using JPay, set up your account first so you are ready when you have the offender’s information in front of you.
Prefer to pay with cash? JPay partners with MoneyGram, so you can walk into a MoneyGram agent location and send money in person. This is a good option if you'd rather skip online payments altogether.
- ✓ MoneyGram account number format: inmate ID number + last name (no spaces)
Your third option is mailing a money order or cashier's check. This works well if you want to avoid both electronic transfers and in-person cash payments.
Make the money order or cashier's check payable to the Missouri Department of Corrections. You'll also need to include a Department of Corrections deposit slip with it.
Send mail deposit transactions to: Offender Finance Office Missouri Department of Corrections P.O. Box 1609 Jefferson City, MO 65102
Mailed deposits are normally processed within 1 to 3 business days after they're received. It can sometimes take a bit longer, so plan ahead if the funds are needed by a specific date.
- Include the DOC deposit slip - Mailed money orders or cashier’s checks must be accompanied by a Department of Corrections deposit slip.
- Double-check the MoneyGram account number format - For cash payments through MoneyGram, use the inmate ID number plus the person’s last name, with no spaces.
