How to Schedule Your First Visit to Estelle Unit Using the TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler

Head to the TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler login page at https://visitation.tdcj.texas.gov/Visitation/startLoginAction.action. This is your starting point whether you're creating a new account or logging in to schedule and check upcoming visits.

Watch out: You must create your own account - TDCJ staff can't do it for you. Once you register with an email address, that email is locked in permanently. The account can't be deleted or changed to a different email.

How to Schedule Your First Visit to Estelle Unit Using the TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler
  1. Open the scheduler login page - Go to https://visitation.tdcj.texas.gov/Visitation/startLoginAction.action.
  2. Enter your email and follow the prompts to register - Use your email address to start the account setup.
  3. Create your password and finish verification - Complete the password setup and any verification steps shown during registration.

Double-check your email address before you finalize anything. Once an account is created, it can't be deleted - and the email address is permanent.

After your account is set up, you’ll move on to adding the inmate and submitting a relationship request. That relationship request is what triggers the unit verification step, so getting your account details right up front helps keep the process moving.

  1. Type your email address on the login screen - Use the same email tied to your scheduler account.
  2. Click “Forgot Password/Reset Password” - This starts the reset process.
  3. Follow the email instructions to reset - TDCJ will send steps by email so you can set a new password.
  1. Click “Add Inmate” in your profile - This opens the inmate search window.
  2. Search using the inmate’s TDCJ number or SID number - The system lets you search by either one.
  3. Enter all 8 digits - The TDCJ or SID number must be 8 digits long to work in the search.

Don't have the 8-digit TDCJ or SID number? Use the TDCJ Offender Search at https://offender.tdcj.texas.gov/OffenderSearch/start.action to look it up. Once you have the correct number, return to the scheduler and try the Add Inmate search again.

After you find the right person and submit your relationship request, the request goes to the inmate's unit of assignment. Staff there verify the visitor/inmate relationship - and that verification is what clears you to start scheduling visits.

Tips Before Travel

  • If you don’t know the inmate’s 8-digit TDCJ or SID number yet, use the TDCJ Offender Search (https://offender.tdcj.texas.gov/OffenderSearch/start.action) before you try to add them.
  • Remember your relationship request goes to the inmate’s unit of assignment for verification - plan for that step before you expect to schedule.
  • If you’re stuck because you can’t complete the Add Inmate step, re-check that you entered all 8 digits of the TDCJ or SID number.
