Bring a valid, government-issued photo ID for check-in. A current driver's license or a Department of Revenue ID both work.

Visitors ages 13 to 18 need ID too. A current school photo ID with the visitor's name on it will work, or a valid federal or state government-issued ID.

Bringing someone under 18? An authorized adult must accompany them. The only exception is if the minor is married to the offender.

Note: You must be pre-approved through a visiting application, which includes a criminal history check. The offender is responsible for letting you know when you're approved. If you're denied, you can appeal within 30 days and reapply after one year.

Keep the one-offender rule in mind. You may only visit one offender, unless you're an immediate family member of more than one.

Life-sustaining medication and equipment are allowed during visits. That includes nitroglycerin, insulin and insulin supplies, oxygen, and asthma inhalers. Everything must be in its original container, and you should bring only the dosage you need for the visiting period.

  1. Notify the case manager ahead of time - Give notice in advance so staff are aware of your medical needs.
  2. Bring items exactly as required - Keep medications and approved medical supplies in their original containers.
  3. Tell staff when you arrive - Let staff know at check-in that you will need medication during visitation.

The dress code at Farmington Correctional Center prohibits tight or excessively baggy clothing, along with anything transparent or revealing. If you're unsure about an outfit, go simple and modest. Losing your visit over clothing isn't worth it.

Warning: Under Missouri statute 217.360, bringing drugs, alcoholic beverages, firearms, or any other prohibited article into a correctional facility may be a felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison.

Pre Visit Checklist

  • Bring a valid government-issued photo ID (adults).
  • If you need life-sustaining medication or equipment, bring it only in the necessary dosage and in the original container.
  • Wear clothing that is not tight or excessively baggy, and not transparent or revealing.
  • Double-check that you are not bringing any contraband (including drugs, alcohol, firearms, or other prohibited articles).

Visiting hours at Farmington Correctional Center run Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with sessions from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Pick your session before you leave home so you're not figuring it out in the parking lot.

Reminder: Don't make the trip unless you've been pre-approved through the visiting application process and the offender has confirmed your approval. If you're denied, you have 30 days to appeal and can reapply after one year.
