How Many People Can Visit at Once at FCI Englewood?
Planning a visit is easier when you know the headcount rules upfront. Here's how FCI Englewood counts visitors—including kids and SHU visits—and what to do if your group is bigger than allowed.
For regular social visits at FCI Englewood (FCI/FPC/FDC), you can bring up to three adult visitors. Space is limited, so that's a firm cap. If your group is larger, you'll need to split into separate visits unless you get an exception approved ahead of time.
Bringing teenagers? Anyone 16 or older counts as an adult visitor. So a 16- or 17-year-old takes up one of those three spots, same as any other adult.
Very young kids may not count against your total. At FCI Englewood, children who aren't walking yet don't count toward the visitor limit - helpful if you're right at the cap.
SHU visits have stricter limits. If your loved one is in the Special Housing Unit, visits are capped at one hour per day with a maximum of two visitors. Staff may grant a one-hour extension if no one else is waiting, but SHU social visits won't exceed two hours total.
- Have the inmate submit an Inmate Request to Staff form - Requests for more than three people have to be made by the inmate.
- Route it through the Unit Team - The request is submitted through the Unit Team for review.
- Wait for the final decision from the Unit Manager - The Unit Manager is the final approving official for larger-group visit requests.
