Getting Your Visitor Application Approved: A Step-by-Step Checklist for Foothills

You can't visit anyone at Foothills until your visitor application is approved by facility staff. This is the gatekeeper step. The fastest path to a visit? Submit a complete application with all required documents attached the first time.

Anyone 16 or older needs to attach a copy of an approved picture ID. Foothills accepts a driver's license or state-issued ID from any state's Division of Motor Vehicles.

For visitors under 16, you'll need to include a copy of the minor's birth certificate. The application won't be considered complete without it.

Each person at Foothills can have up to 18 approved visitors total - adults and minors combined. If you're trying to get added, it helps to know whether the list is already full.

Visitor list changes follow an "open enrollment" schedule every six months, based on the offender's admission date. So if someone was admitted in January, open enrollment falls in July and January.
